In the spring of 2020, an American-style timber processing company called American Timber Processors was born.
A few years earlier, the company had just purchased the largest U.K. pulp and paper mill, which would later become its largest employer.
American Timber processed about $10 billion worth of lumber each year in the U, U. S., and Canada, and by 2025, the U., U. K., and China were each poised to become the world’s largest timber consumers.
American’s executives wanted to build a giant factory, to make everything from pulp to paper to furniture, and the company was eager to find partners to build it.
The company had a long history of developing a complex network of suppliers, but the big push came in 2025.
American had acquired a subsidiary of Canadian pulp and papers maker Procter & Gamble in an $80 billion deal that had the potential to become one of the largest ever in the global market for paper.
By 2025, American’s annual revenue was $40 billion.
American became the first company to break into the international timber markets, and within two years, it was the world leader in the process of processing wood pulp.
American grew to become a $10.5 billion company.
And by 2025 alone, American processed more than 80 percent of the world output of U.s. timber.
American was a big deal.
The industry is huge.
There are about 2,500 companies in the world, according to the International Timber Board, a global organization that represents pulp, paper, and other timber products.
By 2020, it processed roughly 30 percent of U, S. wood production.
The U. k and U. s were also big players in the international lumber market.
In 2020, they were the top two markets for American’s pulp and pulp products, with a combined $1.7 billion in annual global output.
And American’s presence in the industry was also growing.
By 2030, American was the third largest U, K., or China pulp and Paper exporter.
By the end of 2020 and into the first half of 2021, American shipped about 3 million tons of U., S., or Canadian lumber to the world market.
But for American, its biggest challenge was the global expansion of its international operations.
American needed to keep pace with demand in the timber industry, and so it was willing to invest in new machinery, a bigger plant, and more workers.
By 2021, the global demand for American was forecast to exceed the world supply of American’s lumber.
The next year, American launched a major expansion of the factory in the United States.
And for the first time in more than 20 years, American could begin processing lumber that was processed by other companies.
By 2022, American opened its first U., S., factory in Alabama.
American began processing pulp in Alabama in 2019, the year after it bought Proctersgate.
By 2023, American had completed a $100 million expansion of a new Alabama plant, a facility that had previously processed paper and pulp.
In the process, the facility doubled the size of the Alabama plant from 20 to 100 workers, and it opened its largest U., K., factory, a building that now processes timber pulp and wood pulp products.
The American-owned Alabama facility became the world headquarters for American-processed products in 2020, with an average output of more than 10 million tons annually.
American continued to expand its operations around the world.
It expanded in China in 2019 by adding an Alabama facility to that country’s supply chain.
American also expanded its operations in Russia in 2020 with the opening of a facility in St. Petersburg, Russia, which processed its pulp products and wood products.
American in the next few years would open a factory in Australia and Brazil, and eventually expand its global operations to more than 1,000 facilities.
American saw its U. U. and U., k. and K. business as it expanded its international footprint.
In 2021, its U., s., and K., business grew to more then a billion dollars annually, and American’s global footprint expanded from its U, k., to the U k., and U, s.
The first wave of new U. a, s., b, c, d, and e-products that American introduced in the late 2020s were for pulp and timber pulp.
By late 2021, America was adding products for all kinds of products, from pulp, to paper, to wood, and now even some for plastic.
American expanded its U-a-s, b-c, d-e, and f-g products to include wood pulp and other products for plastics, glass, and leather.
In 2018, American announced a new product, the American Paper Co. Wood pulp and fiber are among the products that American is now adding to its U and U-b products
