By R.K. AgarwalA lot of things are happening in the forest land, and there is a lot of speculation and uncertainty about what is going to happen with it.
As per the forest department, about 70 per cent of India’s forest land is forested and has been logged since the 1930s.
This land has been used for irrigation, grazing and other purposes.
But now there are new issues.
Agarwal, the director general of the forest ministry, told The Times Of India that the state government will work on two things: a plan for forest regeneration, and an environmental assessment report.
The plan to regenerate the forest was put forward in 2011.
A total of about 10,000 hectares was allotted for this purpose.
The plan was rejected by the state forest department.
The forest ministry has already started the assessment, but it is not clear when the report will be ready.
The state forest minister, K.
Krishna, said that it would take several months for the project to get cleared.
It has been estimated that the restoration project will cost about Rs.2,000 crore, but the government has not specified how much.
The environmental assessment will look at various aspects, such as soil erosion, forest degradation, and how to manage the forest.
